MAHARASHTRA STATE BOARD
A state board is an education board that each state government in India has established to manage and oversee the schools within its jurisdiction. This system differs from national boards, like the CBSE and CISCE, by focusing on regional languages, culture, and educational standards. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is an autonomous body that regulates and supervises secondary and higher secondary education in Maharashtra. The board is responsible for conducting the SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) examinations throughout the state.
History:-
The Board came into existence on 1 January 1966 to regulate certain matters pertaining to secondary education in the state of Maharashtra, as "Maharashtra State Secondary Education Boards". The act was amended in 1976, and the name of the Board changed to its present name, "Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education"

The head office of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education is located in Shivaji Nagar, Pune, Maharashtra, India. This board, which handles SSC and HSC examinations, has its main headquarters in Pune and is supported by nine divisional boards across the state.

- Creates curriculum: It is responsible for creating and implementing the syllabus and curriculum for all grades under its jurisdiction.

- Divisional boards: The MSBSHSE operates through nine divisional boards located in Pune, Mumbai, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nashik, Kolhapur, Amravati, Latur, Nagpur, and Konkan.
